a Brett-ism (mind you he is 18) . . . . .I made a "new" casserole for dinner tonight, I am just so tired of the same old same old. As I was dishing up our dinner Brett said, "why can't we just eat normal food instead of something you get out of a magazine?" to which I replied, "I didn't get this out of a magazine. . . . " he then said, "well off the internet then!" Ok, ya' got me! Then he says, with all seriousness, as he is looking at the meal, "it looks like CRAP!" and he asks his almost 17 yr. old brother if he thinks so too which, he replies, "yes but I'll still eat it!" Thank you Blake! so the verdict is out whether or not the "crap" is good. I'll have to let you know, but I will say one thing, they are all a bit tenative to eat it thanks to that great comment!!! (oh an add on here, Den was looking at the meal, after everyone ate, and said, "it does look like that fake throw-up pad I used to have!" oh my goodness it just keeps getting better and better! I can't help but laugh, I guess "jaws" will enjoy the meal tonight!!!!)
Just gotta love 'em!

I tried two recipes I got off The Pioneer Woman site this week. Both are now in the trash. I pretty much got the same comments! ( I didn't like them either).
don't you hate when you got out on a limb and try something new??? especially if it doesn't turn out...
Dad has a way of describing foods he doesn't like...
well the boys pretty much summed it up before he even laid eyes on the meal! Their comments cracked me right up! I couldn't help but laugh! OH well, I guess it will be awhile before I try another new receipe!
That didn't happen to be the ole farmers breakfast casserole was it?
My family loved it . . .
NOPE!
I have all but given up trying new things - usually I am the only one who will even try them. *sigh*
There are seriously nights when I threaten to go on "strike". HA! Like that'll ever happen.
It seems like the longer I take on prep for a meal, the less receptive the kids are to it. It is also usually the time I double the receipe, so Don ends up eating it for a week!
My kids would live on chicken fingers and french fries every day if I let them. Too bad for them that I love trying new recipes!
I've had the "this looks like crap!" comment a few times, lol!
