a Thanksgiving Tori-ism.....

Victoria says, "Mom, who am I?" and I said, "Victoria, I don't know, who are you?"  She says, "I'm an angel, sent from God, long ago!" with that she turns and runs, skipping away, blonde hair swinging back and forth!

Thanksgiving morning. . . . .

As I sit here, in the quiet of this Thanksgiving morning, listening to the creaks and groans of a large lodge nestled on a small lake in West Michigan, I find myself reflecting on the goodness of the Lord.  I have much to be thankful for, and very little to complain about!

What a gift it has been, these past 33 years, to be a wife and stay-at-home mom.  There were many times, throughout the years, I wanted to work, maybe out of necessity or for grown up conversation, yet I am so grateful for a husband who valued me, my role as his wife and the mom of his children, encouraging me to stay home.  We may not have much, in the worlds eyes, but I am rich in God's eyes; my husband loves me, my quiver is full (20+) and God loves me! What more could I possibly want or need?  Yes, I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving morning!

Psalm 107:1  "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"

A Tori-ism

As we were driving, tonight, we were looking for Christmas lights.  I said to Tori, look at the Christmas deer, and she said,"I bet they skinned it, cleaned it up and washed it and put Christmas lights on it".

a Victoria-ism. . . .

This afternoon I was making Victoria and I a salad for lunch.  As I was putting it together I asked her if she would like cucumbers in her salad.  She didn't miss a beat and said, "no thank you I don't like cucumbers but I would like them for my eyes!"  She's a sharp one this little four year old and doesn't miss a thing; I say to her, "how did you know about putting cucumbers on your eyes?" and she says (of course), "I saw it on tv!"  Ahhh....we are certainly going to have our hands full with this little beauty!
