"A precious Colson-ism"
Friday morning as I was taking Colson to school he was chattering about purchasing a new WEBKINZs. He was excited to get a little Dalmation to match the big one he has. As we were driving down the street I noticed our gas tank on the big "E". I said to Colson, "Hey buddy will you pray for us that we can make it to school and home 'cause the gas tank is on empty?" Colson loves to pray and he did so. After he said amen, he said, "mom, you take my money that I was gonna use to by a new Webkinz and put some gas in the tank!" O' be still my heart, I just love this kid! I told him that it was ok that daddy was gonna fill the tank before he left for the week. I also told him how sweet and thoughtful that was of him to give up something he really wanted for me.

I have been praying that God would help me see the blessings He has for me each day. What a blessing that was and first thing in the morning too. Sometimes I tend to dwell on the big things we need and not see the special blessings God sends along each and everyday!

I have done quite a bit of organizing this
week and in cleaning out my cedarchest
I found this outfit that was Jacqueline's.
I washed it and since today was snowy
thought it would be a good day for
Victoria to wear it! Jacqueline
was so excited to hear that she had once
worn this when she was Victoria's age.
Grandpa DeWeese made this chair for
Victoria and Grandma DeWeese gave
her this bear and she dearly loves them
both. She is forever hugging on the bear
and she can just about sit herself in the
chair on her own! I love watching
the day to day growth of her!
What a blessing she is to our whole
family. She dearly loves each of her
brothers and though she hasn't seen
Daniel since Christmas when he calls
she always gives the phone a HUG!
(Brad, Dave and Dan all chipped in
and bought this outfit for Jacqueline
for Christmas when she was 11 mo.)
WINTER WONDERLAND
in the SPRING

We woke up to 2 inches of snow/ice this morning. What a gift for springtime!
We are getting very anxious for a change of weather from SNOW! I talked to my mom today and she said that its 84 in Florida! The Bible says "do not be jealous or envious" but 84 degrees
sounds so nice compared to our 28 degrees. I must say that I am thankful for the beautiful
blue skies and glorious SUN! I hear we are supposed to reach 55 by next week! WoW! a tropical heat wave. Colson can't wait to ride his bike, he did one day this past week as temperatures were around 40ish and just had a ball. He has gotten so tall over the winter that he has outgrown his bike. We were talking about bike riding on the way to school today and he mentioned that he needed a new bike because his was too small. I told him that in a few weeks we will be having garage sales galore and we would try and find him one there. I am blessed to have children that don't mind getting new or used things. Either way its new to them and they are excited and thankful.
I hope that where ever you all are today you are counting your blessings and enjoying the day that God has placed before you!

THE EGG HUNT
We were invited to our friends annual
Easter Egg Hunt/dinner this afternoon
after church. The kids had a blast last
year so they were really looking forward
to the afternoon.
Our friends always put on a huge feast
of food/beverages/desserts and
over 300 eggs were hidden with
$200 worth of cash in them along
with prizes and candy.
We had the best day with
food/fun and fellowship.
Here are a few cute shots of
Victoria, exhausted
after church and falling asleep, in her
car seat eating
a chicken tender, (we fed her as we
were leaving because dinner was after
the egg hunt)
and Colson with a few of the
eggs he was lucky to find.
He walked away with over $8,
Jacqueline & Brennan both
found over $14 too!
A big thanks to these special
friends, we are the only non-
family they invite!
Aren't we SPECIAL?

HAPPY EASTER
FROM
OUR HOME TO YOURS!
Nothing professional just a fun quick pic
of the family after Easter Services. Its so
hard to get everyone to look at the same
thing and to make sure you can see everyone
too!

Colson-ism #3
Today, after school, I told Colson about him going with his buddies to see "Horton hears a who," tomorrow; he was so excited. Then I reminded him about his "Praising God" all day on Good Friday. He said "I will just day-dream about Jesus all the while I am watching the movie!"
Gosh I just love this kid and his thinking machine!

ANOTHER Colson-ism
Colson's two little buddies, twins, came home with him today and as we drove home they were talking about going to see the movie, "Horton hears a who" on Friday with their Grandma. Colson said that he couldn't go see it Friday. I asked him why and he said,
"remember, Mom, Friday is Good Friday and I am going to be Praising Jesus all day long."
I said, "oh yeah, thats right! just what are you going to be doing while you are Praising Jesus?"
Colson said, "I am going to be telling Him how much I love Him, and thanking Him for dieing
on the cross, and thinking about Him all day long. . . . ."
I just love his little mind and it touched my heart so how "in-tune" with Jesus he is. He has
no clue, yet, that he is going to the movies with his buddies that came home with him today.
Their grandma is taking all the kids to lunch and to see "Horton hears a who." I am now
wondering if he will go since Friday is "Praising God day!"

COLSON-ISM
Tonight, as we were watching a segment of "Little People Big World" when they rebuilt their indian dwelling,
Colson asked, "Mom are we part indian?"
I answered, "yes!"
Colson then says to Brennan, "See! we are part indian but you aren't part cowboy!"

Good morning, blogger buddies. I am going to be taking some time off from blogging. I love blogging, I love reading blogs, and I love the new friendships formed from blogging but. . . .I am not using my time wisely of late. I am realizing that I need to spend more time on my walk with God. Lots of "stuff" going on in our lives and its only through prayer that we will be able to walk through it. Thank you to all of you who stop by and read and comment. I appreciate them all, and the encouragment I have received as well. May God continue to guide each of you as you pursue Him.

The Dominician Coastline

We got a call tonight from Brett who is on a missions trip in the Dominician. He was so excited and just chatted away about all he is doing, the beautiful weather, his sunburn, an ingrown toe- nail he is nursing. Poor kid! (several of our boys are blessed with this "curse") He also talked about all he has been doing down there in the bario. He said that they have been carrying 5 gallon pails of mixed cement about a 1/2 mile to their destination. He said the cement is nothing like it is here in the US. What a tough job. He is loving it though and sounded so good. He was at the missionaries house tonight as they also have a son his age and they were going to "jam" a bit on guitars.

He wanted to make sure he talked to both Den and I and especially Victoria! How cute! We sure do miss him but we also know that what he is learning and experiencing will touch his life for years to come.

Thank you to all of you who gave of your $$ to support him on this trip. He was a bit worried on Sunday that he wasn't going to be able to go as he was about $600 short. Its so sweet to see how God provides because by the time Brett got to church he was well over his target amount! SWEET! He was even able to have a little bit of spending money to buy a few souveniers as well.

We are anxiously awaiting his return, to hear of his trip and to see his photos! Oh! this was also the very first time he has ever flown in an airplane!

A true "trip of a lifetime"!
