Here are a few pictures from Brennan's birthday! WOW! I just can't believe he is
14 years old already. I just love the picture of him blowing out his candles. He did not
want traditional birthday cake but wanted Strawberry Shortcake!

"The Hills are alive. . . . la la la la la"

We are excited once again as Brett has

a great part in our schools production of

"The Sound of Music".

He will be playing the role of "Rolf" the

Nazi beau of Liesl.

We will definitely be capturing those

singing and dancing moments on

video!

You can bet that we will be as close

to the front row as we can possibly

get!

DADDY-DAUGHTER
DINNER-DANCE

Last night was our annual Daddy-Daughter
Dance at Jacqueline's elementary school.
Of course, the school girls were buzzing
with excitement all day in anticipation
of this fun-filled event.
Den and Jacqueline went to dinner
at Cracker Barrel, took a nice
quiet drive and then off to the
Grand Ballroom.
(aka the school gymnasium)
To top the night off
Daddy took Jacqueline out
for a Sundae
afterwards!
"SIESTA TIME"
I could not resist taking this picture
of my two "sleeping beauties".
This is definitely a "kodak" moment!

Mid-winter break
We have a wonderful four-day weekend! I think the last part of January and, so far, all of February we have had a four-day weekend.
Its great. I love having the kids home and its nice not having to deal with a busy routine in the mornings.
Unfortunately our four-day weekend is filled with sickness. Brennan, Colson, and I all have a horrendous head cold, and Victoria now has a fever. I am so looking
forward to a lazy day tomorrow.
Colson is back on oral steriods for his excezma. Poor kid! Its totally covering his body this time, and to top it off his asthma has kicked in too.
I think our sweet baby is teething, at least thats what I hope is what's prompting her fever. Poor little thing she just wants to be held and rocked!
I rented a movie from "on demand" and am saving it for later tonight. Jacquie and I are planning on finishing up our "Anne of Green Gables" series
tomorrow morning. I so enjoy watching a movie with her.
We also have a huge presidents project that we will need to tackle this weekend for her. UGH! I hate classroom projects that have to come home. So many
times it the parents doing them and when they are displayed at school you can tell too! What a shame. Honestly, they should be done in the classroom, they should use their computer and library time doing research. Sometimes I wonder just what all they do in 8 hours of education. My poor sweet daughter has had 2+ hours of homework every single night and I bet she has some for the weekend
too! When did the bar get raised so high that elementary kids have several hours of homework nightly? Kids sure aren't able to be kids anymore.
I was going to have a friend, Julie and her kids over tomorrow for lunch and play but with all this sickness running rampant through our home I don't think it
would be wise to pass it on to her gang. Nope! not gonna do it! So we are taking a rain-check on the day of planned fun. Maybe next week.
Its pretty quiet here for "Valentines Day!" Bryan is watching a movie on his laptop; Scottie is snoozing on the sofa; Brennan, Jacquie and Colson are watching
tv in the basement; Den and Blake are reffing youth basketball for the night and Victoria is just playing quietly here beside me! well, she was just a minute ago, guess its time to hit the "la-z-boy" again.
Happy Valentines Day!

another Colson-ism . . .
Colson talking to his dad. . .
"Thanks dad, for taking care of
me when I was sick last night. . ."
"Colson-ism"
I love taking Colson to school,
its not about school, but its about
the ride on the way to school.
This morning, as always, Colson
was chattering away. He was
talking to me about when he gets
big and how he is going to move away.
He said that he was going to move
next door to Scottie. I said, "oh is that
because Scottie is so much fun to play
with?"
Colson said, "no, its 'cause Scottie is
gonna have lots of dogs and I want
one of his dogs."
He then says, " you know, mama,
having a dog is lots of 'sponsability,
you have to buy a collar, a leash; you
gotta buy food, well you even gotta
buy a dog bowl too.
You see, mama, its lots of 'sponsibility,
and I hope I can get a good job so I
can pay for all that stuff."
As I pull into the schools driveway, he
says, "I love you mama, see you at
my party."

Snow. Snow. Snow.
Its picture-perfect outside tonight!
I didn't realize we were
due for another mini-snowstorm
but we are in the midst of it.
What fun this month has brought
with so many snow days.
I am sure we will have school tomorrow
but. . . . one can always wish to
have just one more "snow day"!
